Our focus is narrow.

The primary purpose of The Life of a Historian is twofold:

1. Assist graduate students of American history with comprehensive exam preparation

2. Help historians conduct job searches that lead to exciting and meaningful employment

Our action plan is simple.

Consistently create and share quality content that successfully complements the comprehensive exam preparation of graduate students in American history.

In concurrence, actively identify and connect historians to new and proven job search resources.
